| The insulation obtained by PTFE is particularly significant in its ability to preserve the "silences". In between the music one can find a short period of silence that most often passes unnoticed, erased by the reverberations generated by the memory effect of ordinary insulation materials such as PVC, polyurethane, polypropylene or polyethylene, and even the derivatives of Teflon PFE and others. This artificial extension of the sounds obtained by the static discharges of the dielectrics fill the silences and spoil an important element of the musical pleasure: the way a single note decays. To be clearer, when a pianist hits a single note, the frequencies generate the decay in a subtle mix of harmonics and reverberation. To be perceived with realism, this decay must not be too extended, nor too attenuated or in other words too steep. This is exactly the situation in which PTFE insulated cables come into their own. Insensitive to the static loads they do not retain any residue left by the signal and as a consequence they do not add any. Their transmission is coherent in phase and does not need any correction. The Puretrans is a great cable, especially at this price point. |
